Blasenko or Blas as his family and friends know him, is a Physical Therapist with over 35 years experience and the owner of Phys Med Physical Therapy. He earned his Physical Therapy degree in 1979 from The University of Chile and spent five years working in acute care Hospitals and in a private practice in Santiago, Chile prior to moving to the United States. In 1984 Blas embarked on what was his lifelong goal to live the American Dream with his family. He obtained his Board License in Physical Therapy for the State of California in 1985 and has been practicing in California ever since. He started his U.S. career at Alamitos Belmont Rehabilitation Hospital in Long Beach, a place he remembers fondly for the warm and supportive colleagues that welcomed him and his young family.

Blas has since worked in a variety of practice settings including acute care centers such as The Hospital of The Good Samaritan in Los Angeles, Skilled Nursing Facilities, outpatient clinics throughout the state and in Home Health. He has taken on many supervisorial, managerial and director roles in his career but even in these roles he has always continued to treat and care for patients as a Physical Therapist. His practice experience is broad and includes orthopedic rehabilitation, post trauma rehabilitation, stroke and neurologic rehabilitation, treatment of sports injuries and geriatric care.

In 1990, Blas moved his family to Fresno, California where he opened an out-patient Physical Therapy Clinic. Shortly thereafter in 1991, he proudly became a U.S. citizen. In 1995, Blas became the regional manager for Locomotion Therapy conducting outreach for Skill Nursing Facilities spanning the entire central valley from Bakersfield to Sacramento. In 2003, Blas became the Regional manager for Northern California at United Therapy Network, a position he held until 2005. Blas later served as the supervisor for Physical Therapy at Optimal Rehab conducting outreach and providing services for several skilled nursing facilities in the region.

In his personal time Blas enjoys staying active by playing tennis, running, and cycling. Today Blas is proud to lead the excellent team of people at Phys Med Physical Therapy, whose hard work and dedication make Phys Med one of the leading providers of Physical Therapy in the Fresno area.
